I recommend watching the video linked. In 08 I was telling the pro-Obama people the stuff the OP of the linked thread was saying and they either didn't listen or didn't care.
Is war and corporate welfare popular? I think it is, because if it wasn't, then a majority of people would support Ron Paul. Why is war and corporatism so popular? Most people are corporatists and don't even realize it. For example, people who support the minimum wage are corporatists (perhaps with egalitarian intentions, but still corporatists nonetheless), because min wage legislation is a barrier to entry for small business.
And no, I'm not seeing things in black and white, because you're either pro-war or anti-war, and pro-corporatist or anti-corporatist. You can't have it both ways. Do most voters realize that or do they really think they can get someone who is halfObama (pure authoritarian) and halfRon Paul (pure libertarian)?
