It's a sign of how terrible American media is that he was ever considered honest (or most honest than average). That was never the case; every shadow budget he ever released was shocking in the amount of lies it perpetuates. It's just that it is such a rarity for politicians to take hard stances that people (including myself) have been impressed/taken aback.

Maybe we should start another thread about Obama being a Muslim Socialist. You don't think it's important that the Romney campagin is running a campaign built on lies?

The man's entire life has been based on lies, why should his campaign be any different. Even for a politician Romney tells an excessive amount of lies. He may in fact be setting a record for lies during a political campaign. We need to bring back the hashtag that Stephen Colbert used #notintendedtobeafactualstatement for anything Romney says.

Those aren't lies, they're broad allegorical truths that aren't meant to be taken literally....or however else the GOP wants to describe just making a bunch of bullshit up after seemingly not realizing the press has access to actual information.

Ryan misremembered his marathon time from a race he ran in 1990. Really? What a lying POS!!!

I think the marathon lie is the most disturbing. If you run, you know your time. You don't underistamte/misremember your time by an hour (under 3 vs. slightly over 4). That is a difference of running a sub 7 (6.8) mile avg and a 9 (9.2) min mile avg. It is a substantial difference (difference between racing and semi-running) and any runner who trains for a marathon wouldn't make that mistake.

A lie is only a lie when it is used against a Democrat. You can claim a Democrat made a promise, quote him making that promise, and you are the liar, not the President.

The fear of Paul Ryan is strong in these threads. :D

Can you imagine how the Dems will be shakin' when Paul rips apart Joe in their debate?

It will be a cage match with a beat down so severe that Biden will be run, run, running away after his first verbal gaffe!

P.S. Mods, as fun as this is, how about if we consolidate all of the purported lying threads into one?

Let's have one big Obama, Biden, Romney, Ryan and every other politician as liars du jour thread!

Yes...this "lie" is most disturbing.

BTW, did it take long for you to heal after they performed the lobotomy?

Let me ask you a question. Are you concerned that the ROmney/Ryan ticket is building their campaign on lies (gutting welfare/you built that)? Or for you has it become a my side vs their side type thing.

I find the posters here that repeat Democrat Party talking points are doing just that and nothing more.

I find that the Journolist attempt at a coordinated attack on Republicans continues and it is just that and nothing more.

I find that there are substantive differences in how the two leadership teams have and are going to tackle obvious problems, but I find little substantive debate here about those differences. Ad hominem attack is just that and nothing more.

I find that when threads are created criticizing speeches and platforms before they are even finished and announced, they are just partisan frenzies and nothing more.

I find that threads like this, and all of the others that are really just tempests in teapots, are made to divert discussions of a more serious nature. They are part of the campaign strategy of a Democrat Party and Democrat Administration that has a very poor record on which to run and so the Democrat partisans like yourself and your ilk need to divert, divert, divert.

Meaningless attacks are just that and nothing more.

So.. I don't believe you answered my question below. Or do you believe that Obama truly said "you didn't built that" in reference to Business and Obama did gut the work requirement?

It seems to me that if Romney wanted to talk about serous issues, we wouldn't be having this discussion because he wouldn't be building his campaign on these lies.

It's not that he mis-remembered his time, but that he claimed to do the equivalent of pitching a perfect game in Baseball or getting a 900 series (3 perfect games) in Bowling. Something rather epic for followers of that sport. What makes it even more laughable is that he made this claim to a RUNNING magazine.

Basically he took a soft-ball easy interview and turned it into a scandal by telling a lie or exaggeration right to the people who a) take this kind of stuff seriously and b) would automatically know he was lying.

Now this wouldn't be a big deal if it were just one gaffe, just one mis-spoke but Ryan has established a pattern of... well... getting things completely wrong. Ryan is lucky in that most of his lies are of the long boring types that are boring to refute and make people's heads hurt. Economics is a rather boring (but important) subject. The Ryan cuts do what to social security in how many years? Snore.

This lie is rather brazen and easy to explain, so that's why that lie is getting traction while some of the... more boring ones just make people scratch their heads if they can understand it.

You can't seriously believe that the Democrats want a serious discussion about issues, do you?

This is an Administration whose budget submissions have been UNANIMOUSLY rejected as fantasy exercises.

This is an Administration that has borrowed and spent the country into massive deficits with no end in sight.

Obama has never run a business, nor has he ever built a business. He has no interest in economic development, never has. He is a parser of words and a panderer. You are his unquestioning sycophant. It is a pre-ordained match! :awe:

The LAST thing Democrats like you want is a serious evaluation of the Obama Administration's performance and proposals to continue with more of the same.

Both Romney and Ryan have submitted detailed proposals that you are not considering because your handlers have instructed you to be fixated on how fast you think Ryan ran a race in 1990. (By the way, how come we do not have access to Obama's academic records? Wouldn't those be more important to consider than how fast Ryan ran a foot race? :sneaky:)

No worries, mate. The slimes against Ryan are just preaching to a choir that is already committed Democrat. My guess is that just as sliming validates Democrat confirmation bias, it will also reinforce the fervor of the Republicans and their allies to oust such shallow partisans, just like in 2010.

But will this endless stream of sliming have an effect on the still unaligned independents that are looking for serious answers to serious problems? Will it help or will it hurt? That is the real question.

I hope this gets lots of traction...it makes Dems look like a bunch of morons.

Ok... But again. Let me ask you again. Any time you're ready you can answer it. This shouldn't be that hard.. It's ok to criticize those who you support.
