How about they take the money and open up a factory or something else instead of wanting more taxes? More taxes by employment is much better than more taxes because of higher rates. Quit shipping the jobs offshore and this wouldn't be as much of a problem. *sigh*
Yes, I'm sure the average millionaire has enough left over cash to open a factory to produce widgets when there is no demand, just for the sake of creating jobs.

If they want to pay more, they are free to donate. Put your money where your mouth is guys, not force others to give more of their money because you want them to.

This is the prime difference between conservatives and liberals

conservative = ok, pay more if you want, but the individual is what's most important as is the fruits of their labor
liberal = we will take by rule of law because we said so and know what's best for you

Responding to Mr. pinheand. LOL. Same spew different day.

You,ll find him at Fuckthelosers.com or something similar to that. See my Spidey sig.

That is a actually a pretty good idea. If they really wanted to help people then they should collectively band together and open a business that actually employs Americans.

What makes you believe consumer demand and thus job creation would spike with higher taxes on these people?

First of all, what makes you believe that I believe consumer demand and thus job creation would spike with higher taxes on these people?

Because it seems you believe higher taxes is an answer to our economic woes and deficit problems.

Well, do you think the USA should pay down its debt? Do you think that would be a good thing? If yes, do you think that would maybe influence consumer confidence?

I'm convinced some right-wingers here, if prisoners in German concentration camps, would criticize the liberators who came to free them, worshiping their captors.

If they were slaves during the civil war, they'd volunteer to fight for the confederacy.

During our revolutionary war, the country was split between those for revolution and those for remaining under England. They'd be the latter.

There have always been conservatives throughout history. During the Revolutionary War they were called "Loyalists" (loyal to the King) and frequently ratted out the patriots to the British overlords.

Of course I do but raising taxes on these people is not going to solve our spending problem which created the deficit in the first place.

I didn't mean one individual....the entire group that's wanting more taxes.

LoL nice revisionist history. Tell me why were the founding fathers of this nation motivated to revolt against the British? Oh that's right they didn't want pay for England's wars via higher taxes.

Op - God bless these patriots for taking a stand.

It's laughable that the common thread in the right wing response is a very simple and childish, "If YOU want to pay more then go ahead. WE'RE not giving anything!"

I really must heap a lot of the blame for our current economic crisis on the former Republican administration. They foolishly engaged in two wars and granted huge tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans at the same time. What kind of idiot starts a war with no plans on how to pay for it while simultaneously slashing their own income?

Nice revisionist history. Ever hear of Taxation without Representation? It wasn't about not paying any taxes. It was about dissatisfaction with paying taxes to a distant governmental body with no say in how the money would be spent.

How about entering wars on multiple fronts while simultaneously lowering taxes. Do you think that contributed to the deficit?

No no no! Democrats are the ones that spend the country into oblivion. Fox News told me so!

Well geez I take it you'd just be Jim Dandy with a governmental body which provides representation but then takes this money and spends it on "multi-front wars" right? You seem to make my point that any money given to government will just be spent in a manner that many would not agree with at all. Thus this money instead of being spent on "multi-front wars" or other government policies that these indivdual millionaires may not agree with would be better spent by being funneled into the economy (via direct spending or investments which fund business growth and expansion) instead of being handed to bureaucrats and politiicans who seek to justify their salaries and job positions.

How about entering wars on multiple fronts while simultaneously lowering taxes. Do you think that contributed to the deficit?

So basically you've made my point and agree that government spending is out of control.

Word.

You know they never will. Look at what Buffet is doing with all of his money while advocating for higher taxes. He isn't paying his MASSIVE tax bill and instead of giving it to our glorious government he is going to give it all to the Gates foundation.

The taxpayers of your state worked for your wife's salary you fucking hypocrite. You are a leach and a socialist.

He can start first by giving back his wife's salary that his hypocritical socialist ass stole from taxpayers. He wants a smaller government and less taxes, he can volunteer to have his wife lose her job, forfeit her salary, pension and give the taxpayers back everything he has gained for her entire tenure.

Until that point, he has not one fucking single thing to say about people paying in more voluntarily.

It's my money. I'm just getting it back.

Winning.

I highly doubt you pay in taxes what your wife makes in total compensation, including future pension payments.

In fact, if that were the truth, we could estimate your wife makes $60,000/yr in salary, probably 1/3 more in benefits, or $80,000/yr. I think you live in KY, where the state income tax is 6% for 75k+ (since you're a baller, we'll say you make over 75k). 80,000/6% = 1,333,333.33.

So, either you make $1.33mm/yr, or you're a fucking hypocrite. Either way, we know you are a liar AND a hypocrite, you leach on society.

Blind? I think you need to open your eyes and realize that any tax hike on the millionaires would not solve a damn thing in terms of our budget deficit and government over spending.

Oh alright, so since something won't singe handedly fix the issue, it's not worth doing. Got it.

Next up, voting registration requires no identification what so ever, since identification doesn't solve all voter fraud. Also since current immigration laws don't solve illegal immigration, there's no sense in having them.

I think you as well as everyone here realizes how retarded that argument is.

Revenue down, expenditures up => Increase revenue, lower expenditures.
Effective tax rate on the top 400 filers has gone down by a factor of 3 over the last 20 years, compare the tax revenue growth rate over the same period.
