Patriot vs GEIL

I have both PC2-6400 Patriots and Ballistix. I'm almost 99% sure my Ballistix are D9GMH... how else can I run 1100MHz 5-5-4-10 at 2.1V ~ I haven't tried overclocking the Patriot's, but when I had them in my computer, the SPDs of the two were very similar.

Ballistix: 4-4-4-12 (800MHz) 2.2V & 5-5-5-15 (1000MHz) 2.2V
Patriots: 4-4-4-12 (800MHz) 2.2V & 5-5-5-15 (1000MHz) 2.3V

Don't let anyone tell you either suck because of the "2.2V" because you won't need 2.2V for either at stock unless you board massively undervolts your dimms.
 
Guys, Geil RAM is not Ballistix.

It just has the orange heatspreaders that kinda imitate the appearance of Crucial Ballistix, but the IC's are SpecTek.

Patriot PDC22G6400LLK has the Micron D9GMH chips, which are the same (or almost the same) as in Crucial Ballistix RAM.

That's why the Ballistix, and this particular model of Patriot memory are comparable.

Geil has SpecTek IC's - substandard to Micron.
 
I like the Patriot too, it's very good low-latency DDR 800. But it would help to know what else is in your system and what you're trying to accomplish. Otherwise you might pay too much for specs you don't need or wind up with sticks that cause compatibility problems.
 
He should be OK with Patriot under any circumstances.

Just remember - they need 2.2V. Relatively high by DDR2 standard.
 
I like Patriot. I have bought a bunch of ram from them, never had a DOA stick, never get memory errors and I overclock the hell out of them. 🙂
