Not too long ago I picked up something called the Ascaron compilation pack from gogamer when I was looking for a filler during one of their sales. This is a set of three strategy titles, Patrician 3, Port Royale 1, and Tortuga 1. I've started the others to look at them, but mainly I've spent most of the time playing Pat3 last week or so. (One great thing is that once installed there are no CD checks)
Anyone else play(ed) this? I started a game on easy and managed to rack up a good income, but ignored the pirates and just ran away. This time I'm on medium so just running away doesn't always work. What's the best way for dealing with them prior to getting hulks?
Also as far as money goes, I can maintain a good cash flow for several years just trading, but eventually you need to crank out your own industries to keep making money by the bucket. But then you run into my first problem again, more goods that need to be moved (otherwise the cost of running the industry kills you) and you have that many more chances to run across the pirates.
