Pathfinder or Toxic Rain? I would say Toxic Rain is similar to other bow skills in the amount you have to interact with your keys. AoE on it is decent and so is the damage. Pathfinder is constant flask clicking if you're not using a flask macro. Pathfinder gets more speed and similar damage where Trickster gets better defense.
 
Damn it.

I think it's going to be Holy Flame Totem Hierophant for me this round. I actually haven't played a totem for a couple of leagues so may as well go back to the tried-and-true.
Not seeing any 3.9 build guides yet, though I think a 3.8 should suffice as there's been minimal changes to the build.
 
If you go Hierophant you don't need to pick anything right away. You could just level it to maps and check the forum again to see if anything new is up that seems interesting to you. You've leveled that class enough to know what feels good for a leveling skill and you'll have enough refunds to adjust your passive tree to fit what ever build you take at maps.

im playing my usual league start Chaos build - Soulrend+Bane/Trickster or Occultist since its a build that requires zero currency and really eats up all the acts.
got a Tabula on day 1 from Metamorph which was really nice.
 
Just got to mapping last night.
Gotta find a re-tuned guide for my build. The one I was following doesn't have nearly all the points allocated. So if anyone knows a good Heirphant Holy Flame Totem for 3.9 send it my way.

I have to say too, I might be bored with Totems....

I'm doing my standard build-ADD thing. I started with a bow puncture gladiator build. That was supposed to be my hipster pick, then I saw that that was one of Mathil's recommended starters. Which saved me the trouble of having to theory-craft a tree, but so much for the "hipster" part. It's ok, but I'm really feeling the lack of link with it. I'm sure it'll be fine in the long run, but for now, ensnaring arrow is feeling really clunky.

I've also got a miner going who I started with the intention of going for blast rain (nuclear launch detected). It seemed fine, but EA mines felt much better. And I'm pretty sure arc mines would be better still.

And because the first two characters gave me a roth's reach and practically every low level unique with flat elemental damage, I've got a ice shot deadeye going as well. Even without links, it's super-punchy with my current gear. But I know it's going to hit a lull when my current gear starts to get outdated while I remain unable to afford the expensive end-game sort of stuff the build calls for.

if you're doing heirophant and ele totems, then Divine Ire totems have a proven track record with endgame content.
 
Metamorph is really good right now. Once they make the body parts pick up automatically it might be the best league ever. I don't know what to think about the new Atlas so far, but I had mixed feelings about the last one... I could rarely sustain high level maps... So we will see if this helps any!

Have they confirmed the body part pickup will be automated? I've seen countless requests for it...
I'd like too for the dude only to appear when I prompt him too. It sucks having him be in the middle of some boss fight or appear automatically when I picked up the last needed body part type. I always end up clicking on him by mistake. Hopefully that is fixed as well.

But yes, in general, I like the league and the mechanic for the most part. I'm not deep enough into the mapping yet to know anything about it.

It's on their twitter 🙂 so I hope so! That would REALLY make this league a ton of fun for me. It's great now, but man if I dont have to stop every single pack it will be tons better.

I just read that it's not going to be a "vacuum" type thing like azurite. Instead it will be a "kill mob, automatically get body part"
either way works, but I prefer the vacuum I guess.
 
I'm one of those unfortunates who fairly regularly crashes to desktop when Tane spawns. I hope they get that fixed soon - I'd actually like to be able to engage with the league content.

That sucks man... I went NVIDIA in my last build purely because PoE has always had problems with Radeon cards... My current issue is that my ISP is the worst in the country. It was down for 5 hours Sunday afternoon and down this morning when I left for work.

Super frustrating at the start of the league when I've blocked off some time to play...

Fired up a T5 map and got my 1st Exalt drop.
I'm going shopping tonight!
 
Question:

You know the organs that sometimes drop after you beat the Metamorph? That you can pick up and put in your inventory... are those just be use to supplement future Metamorphs? Like if I want to make a SUPER one? Or do those organs come into play somewhere else later?
