For the past year or so, I've been having problems with Patellar Tendonitis in my left knee. I know it's the result of playing basketball, but I giving up balling completely isn't really an option. The pain comes back eventually even if I rest it for a few months. Any ideas?

Orthopedic surgeon, specifically one who specializes in sports medicine.

There are things that can be done with arthroscopic surgery as well as the more traditional sorts. High-priced athlete contracts have resulted in at least one bonus for the average joe on the street; doctors have learned a lot more ways to help people get the most out of their bodies even after major injuries.

The sooner you do it, the less long-term damage you will cause to your joints.
