For those of you who are having difficulties EA is being a good Producer and I'm amazed that they are releasing a patch for a demo.

This goes to show how much they want this to succeed (and how much it will)

Battlefield 1942 Multiplayer Demo patch Coming Soon!

We are all pleasantly surprised by how popular you've made the Battlefield 1942 Multiplayer Demo. Some of you have pleaded for certain fixes, which would make your gaming experience that much better.

Well, as you've made this the second most popular online shooter being played right now, it makes sense to listen to you. So we?ll be releasing a patch for the Multiplayer Demo very soon which will incorporate a number of fixes, including the following:


Support for All Seeing Eye.
Support for refresh rates higher than 60hz.
Improved Server stability
And many other fixes to be announced soon...Stay tuned for more details as the development team digs in...

I found a server that rival forums arstechnica has that we were playing on last night and is tons of fun.

I stand corrected neomits. I was watching the wrestling PPV last night, so I didn't frequent the forums last night. Hopefully when this patch comes out (I predict later this week), it will give us a glimpse at what the final product will be capable of.

Have they released a patch previous to this? Last time I tried to play with the initial release, it would simply crash to desktop.

Uh it's been out what... 9 days now and it's about time?
I'm glad to see their patching a demo... hopefully this game will be as good as it has a chance to be. Like I said before.. could have people saying Counter-What? Medal of Who?

Well, when a product doesn't work for half of the people who try it, you might think they'd put a patch at the top of their priority list.

But then again, it IS EA we're talking about here.

I don't think the problem was THAT widespread but I know what you mean


thats why when a game like warcraft3 goes through an immense amount of Beta testing to get everything worked out just right, the full game is AMAZING


usually today when demo's are released before the actuall game's date they aren't really demo's, they are beta/demos

Good to hear. I wanted to try this out in MP, because as much as I enjoyed tribes 2 and the bf1942 single player, I figued I'd like the MP as well. Hopefully it'll work for me.

So I suggest putting [ATOT] in front of your name (or some variation).

The Omaha Beach is said to be the best D-day level ever out of any games

and a sweet thing also is in the level Operation Market Garden the allies have the option of starting out by parachuting in !!!

We can only hope that soon enough Counter-Strike will die forever and never come back.
