Came out today, and its retail price is just $19.99. Its a very fun, and addicting game. You basically control movement, with a sequence of buttons. Sorta like Parappa. You move them with one sequence, and then attack with another. Among other thing. There is a demo on the PSP store. Along with the GoW demo too. :)

There are a ton of videos out for it, here is one; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lp173Si-XZM

9.2 from IGN; http://psp.ign.com/articles/852/852601p1.html (actual gameplay video in the review)
4 out of 5 stars from Gamespy; http://psp.gamespy.com/playsta.../patapon/853233p1.html
9.0 on Gamespot (9.2 user score); http://www.gamespot.com/psp/ac...=tabs&tag=tabs;reviews

Amazing to me that a game of this quality, is just $20. Highly recommended to anyone who has a PSP. Even with someone with no rhythm, I find it fun. Just get ready to get the music stuck in your head.

My friend brought this into work today - it's kind of bad.

The style is great and the music is fun, but there's nothing to the game. You just hit 4 buttons over and over and over and over again to varying beats. It's not much more than repeated quick time events. I assume the speed gets faster as the game goes on? Also - you can't pause it! Who would design a portable game that cannot be paused? Ridiculous.

I suppose I can see how people can find it enjoyable, but it's just not for me. I enjoy rhythm games a ton, but this one is pretty meh.

Wow, such negative responses!

I have had my eye on this title for a while, and I think it looks great. It been pretty universally praised I think; the lowest score I've seen it get is a 70. Also, with a $20 price tag, I can hardly stop myself for picking up this game ASAP.

>< argh, I'm a little pissed.

I preordered this from Amazon over 3 weeks ago and it's been delayed. I then tried to do a pick up order at Bestbuy but they never got their shipment in....I've been waiting for this game for a while now.....dammit all to hell!

Looks doesnt mean anything. Its how it plays. If you've got a PSP, you'd be crazy to not at least try the demo. Three reviews.. all three good. Some more that are all good.

And then I stopped looking. Lowest score was a 8, or 80%. As I said, if you've got a PSP, you'd be crazy to not at least try it. It may not look like fun, but dont knock it till you try it.

So now that the game has been out for a coulpe week or so, what are y'alls impressions?

I'm loving the game. It was a little repetitive when I had to do the hunting stages over and over to get Ka-Ching, but once I got the lucky star stage, it was much less troublesome.

Question: How do you use the Green Colored attacks from Megapons? I know that you have to charge (pon-pon-chaka-chaka), then do a defensive (chaka-chaka-pata-pon) to get them to shoot out those big green blocks, but I have no idea how to use them effectively.
