Heck, Shuxclams has just been trolling away. The constant polical threads he starts are just chum in the water. I swear he doesn't care who starts fighting in the thread (he just about said so earlier in this thread), he just wants to enjoy the action (while tossing a barb in every once and a while). If he was really trying to make a point, he wouldn't be constantly tossing out stories with very similar themes each in their own thread.

That's why I put him on his own list. He's just a common troll which by nature are boring.

I'm not surprised that Red Dawn was drawn into a fight. He entered full attack mode during the election threads (as far as I can tell it happened when he got pissed at the right wing attack dogs that jumped all over anyone who disagreed with them and he decided to try and even things up a bit) and I'm not sure if he has realized it. Maybe things got a little too personal at one point and he can't stop lashing out.

I am surprised that a few others are falling for Shux's blatent trolling. If you want to provide amusement for Shux, go right ahead, but I bet most have much better things to do.

I'm not even going to cast any stones, it's not like I haven't done the same tons of times before (not on Anandtech, but I've been on Usenet for close to decades). I'm just pointing out what seems obvious to me (and others as well, look at some of the first few posts in each of his threads).

Hey Michael, Whats the deal?

<< He's just a common troll which by nature are boring. >>

I don't think I have ever had bad words with you why start this way. I was reading all the sites lastnite and if you were to notice all those site were as diverse in philosophy as one could get, From CATO, to MoJo, From ashcroft to clinton, yeah there was a lot of good stuff to poke fun at or try and get a good political thread going. I don't see a problem with that.

Shux - Just expressing my opinion - note the part about not casting stones. As far as I can tell, it is impossible to stir up the sh!t and somehow still smell like a bouquet. Don't tell me that you've missed the fact that the political threads have stirred up far more ill will here than is really necessary? Am I expected to believe that you didn't want to create a stink?

You're welcome to post whatever you want, of course, and if you're just making random observations, then observe away.

Michael

ps - I seem to rember you jumping all over me in a power thread when I made it pretty obvious that I was joking. I've having a letter published in the paper I linked to, btw, and I'm going to the next public hearing to express my opinion on the NIMBYism that is going on in my town.

pps - I'm off to watch the Sharks play Edmonton ...

What's up Red? I just got done reading this thread, went out, refreshed, came back and your icon was changed! Weird.

I beg your pardon...

Why incur the wrath of one not engaged in this fray? Are you testosterone-poisoned with something to prove, or merely an intellectual pygmy?

edited for spelling: - lest Red smack me down... ;)

I won't always agree with you. That we've established. We now proceed from a mutual understanding and a certain degree of respect. That - I admire.

What was this thread about anyway..???? ;)

Red - I probably flamed you with my first post because I couldn't believe what a jerk you were back then to the other members.... What have I done to help the members here? Let me list them:

#1. I don't bring people's families into my conflicts online..
#2. I can actually post a response to a message without an insult in it.
#3. I don't nef in EVERY politcal thread.
#4. I don't intimidate other members with threats.
#5. I don't somehow manage to post in EVERY message that I write that our President-Elect is somehow too stupid to be President.
#6. I dont tell other members about how much I deserve to be here and they don't.. just you.
#7. I can accept people who disagree with me who don't feel the need to insult me personally.
#8. I'm not on a power trip.
#9. I don't care about how many posts a person has.
#10. I don't get off on making other people look bad... again, only you.
#11. I don't look like a biker. :)
#12. I don't nef.
#13. I tell it like it is.. without regard to what the consequences are, without fear of being flamed.
#14. I am not Suxclams, er, Shuxclams..
#15. I am not Red Dawn...

I think thats enough.

Crimson -

#3 and #12 are redundant.

If I can reach an understanding with Red - surely you can. I know... "Don't call me Shirley" -

He's okay - you're okay. Find your common ground, agree to disagree... and move on.
Life's more fun that way. :)

DanC - Believe me, I'll defend Red's right to act like a jackass to the death.. but that doesn't mean I am not going to point it out.. Personally, I think Anandtech would be better off without him here.. Does that mean he doesn't have the RIGHT to be here? No.. just that I think we would be better off without him and his insults.

I can't say I disagree except for his right to be here.
I don't agree with the man, but I find the intellectual struggle to point out differences and to argue points worthwhile.

We all could use tempering at times. I am as guilty as any. Perhaps 2001 will find us more of a clan of debaters than flamers.

I'm not coming down on you at all dude... :)

edit: I will point out that Red is man enough to alter his style to suit the occasion and the opponent. One should certainly think before typing.... suitable counsel for anyone - including myself.

Thats a nice pond in a big yard DanC. You have much to be proud of.

I think 12 in trout is just about right for the skillit. Good thing trout fishing is good in those streams outside the city limits.:)

Red -
14 Rainbows. I used to have some Koi, but a Great Blue Heron corrected that situation for me.
They range from 8 to about 13 inches. When I get the time and inclination, I'll actually finish the website and add an underwater "trout-cam" :)
