PATA Drive.. any good now?

Now that I have my 1TB black up and running I am wondering if I should leave the 200gig PATA drive in and if so what I could use it for. Or should I chuck it? It is a pretty decent little drive.

If you dont have two drives save it for backups and storage..

If and when the 1Tb dies again like mine die do you have another drive to save an image of your OS on and backups on???

Any drive for a a back up is better than no backups

Certainly save the drive since it worked fine just in case something unfortunate happens to your new one. At least you can put the old one back in while waiting for a replacement. For me, I just don't have the roomy case to have a second hard drive as it interferes with getting to my video card. I took mine out after putting the new one in and will just store it as you never know if it might be needed at some point to get you up and running again. Besides I already have an external hard drive for backups.

Put it in the computer for a back up, why trust one drive for all your data? Even new drives can fail. Reminds me of a co-worker. He built a new system, but he's big on partitioning his drives. He claims that he puts the OS on one partition, and the rest of his files on another partition is safe. I guess he doesn't realize that if the drive fails it's all gone...
