Pat Tillman NFL player who quit to join Army killed

Arizona Cardinals NFL player Pat Tillman who left a multi-million dollar contract in 2003 to join the Army was killed in Afghanistan. Story was just on CNN TV.

Friends said that the 9/11 terrorist attacks had affected him deeply. Cardinals defensive coordinator Larry Marmie, after a conversation with his former player, said Tillman felt he needed to "pay something back" for the comfortable life he had been afforded.

Absolutely amazing. I respected his decision, but I didn't know he felt this way.

I watched a special last night on Frontline about Ahmed Rantizzi, (sp?) the son of a senior Al Queda official who rebelled from his family and aided the Americans when they invaded Afghan. after 9/11. He was in the inner most circle, and even lived w/ his family in a house w/ OBLs family. Talked a lot about their ideas and his experiences with them. I couldn't help but get really angry again about AQ and wish them dead; but also about a Iraq and the time we're wasting over there when the real fight has lost focus and our needed attention and (most importantly) resources. What an F up...
