As we all know, the purpose of marriage is to create children. We know this because the anti-same-sex marriage crowd has kindly informed us of this fact.
Thus, what a man should do if his wife has Alzheimers is clear: She's almost certainly too old to bear children, so the marriage MUST be considered invalid - no divorce required. In fact, EVERY marriage where the wife is past menopause and there are no longer children being raised in the household MUST be considered invalid.
The man should seek out a much younger woman and impregnate her. This is what the bible tells us.
