Pasted/renamed files don't appear until refresh?

In windows xp, generally when you paste files into a directory, they appear as soon as the copy finishes. However, I have one computer that they do not appear until I manually refresh (F5) the folder. This happens every time, but only on this computer. The same thing happens if I simply try to rename a file, the new name is not displayed until a manual refresh.

Any one ever seen this / know how to fix it?
