OK, I'll bite...

Pull the board out of the case. Get a fresh can of contact cleaner, hold board upright and spray the snot out of the socket. Dry out the socket with compressed air and set on the side to dry out (compressed air, I have found, tends to cool the area sprayed and attract moisture if you get too agressive with shaking the can).

The rules for paste are very similar to laying sod - green side up, roots go down.:);)

I got a little thermal compound in my socket a couple of months ago and decided to leave it since it wasn't much. My system has been running ok.

What kind of thermal paste? I know some versions of Arctic Silver are electrically conductive...
