Pasta Lovers: use sauces that are made from tomatoes, not tomato paste/puree!

heh...they're just up the road from us. For that matter, most of the major tomato canneries are within 30-50 miles.

My wife usually makes her own pasta sauce. Depending on what she's making, how much time she wants to spend, she uses either fresh tomatos or canned chunked tomatos. Sometimes she'll add a bit of tomato puree for flavor, but not always.

If she's just making a quick pasta dinner, she'll buy Hunt's or S&W salt-free sauce and/or tomatos...but thankfully, that's not often. I prefer her home-made tomato-based sauces.

Ah, just buy the cheap Hunts, much cheaper than Ragu.

I used to buy tomato sauce in cans, but the last one I bought had black streaks in it that I suspected were from some kind of reaction with the steel D:

I'm back to glass. If you get it on sale it's usually not too bad.
