i bought a parallel port zip drive, thinking the portability would be great to have.

the parallel port was so godawful slow that all i did was backups...id fill up a disk at school and another when i went to bed, because otherwise waiting on it drove me nuts. it never left my room and im pretty sure i stored some porn on it, what with my awesome dialup connection and all.
 
I remember my first electronic purchase was a 40GB hard drive. This thing was HUGE, I could not imagine ever using all of that up. Paid 200 bucks for it online, while a 10GB in town was about 200 as well. I could not believe the huge deal I got.

To think, a 1TB drive now costs less then that.
