Password protecting a networked folder

I have two computers connected to the same network. I share a folder on Computer A, and when I see the folder through the network share in Computer B, I try to open the file.

Now one of two things happen, depending on the permissions: It either lets me open the folder without any password or authentication. When I deny everyone in the permissions folder in A, and then open the folder again in B, I get access denied.

Presumably I could use B to open the folder, where at which point I would be asked to login with a User and Password before I can go further. How can I do that?
