Password Protect Folder in Win2K

Hey Everybody,

I was wondering if anyone knew how I could put passwords or lock up certain folders so that someone else using my computer cant access them. I know I could create a new user and set all the preferences from the Administrators account, but that sounds like a pain to me, and wanted to know if anyone knew of a better way to do something similar. Thanks for any help I can get.

You cannot set a password on folders in 2k. Perhaps there is some third party app that allows you to do this, but I am not aware of one.
If you want to secure your folders/files locally, you must use NTFS permissions. Unfortunately this means you must set up accounts.

It does seem like a pain, but I think it's the best way to go if you have someone else using your machine. You can keep auto-login even if you have multiple users so it logs you in without having to use a password, but you can log yourself out if someone else wants to use the computer.

If this is how I have to do it, then I guess I will, but do I have to convert my HD to NTFS to do this or can I do this using my current FAT32 format? Thanx again.
