I am having trouble sharing my drive with another computer.
it must not work the same as it does in win98. I am using win2k pro and i right click on the folder i want to share and share it as full access without any permision setup no password requierd. Now when I go to the other computer and try to access the drive or folder I get a message asking for a password. I have know idea what that password would be since I never anyware setup a password. the only password is on my router. p.s. the other computer is win98 my daughters, we are sharing a cable modem

If you haven't, create a new share, giving it any name you want, and give access to "everyone".

On the win2k machine:

start -> settings -> control panel -> admin tools -> computer management -> users

enable the guest account and it should work fine :)

One way to fix this is:

1) Find the logon name used in your win98 machine
2) on your win2k machine, add that user logon name as an account
3) redo your shares to add the new account.

Should work like a charm.
