Password problem in dial up connection - WinXP

When ever I enter and save my password for my dial up connection, Windows xp seems to like to make my password three times as long when ever it goes to dial up my connection. I've tried everything to try and fix this but nothing helps. I've checked the windows support site and can't find anything.

Can anyone help me. It's very annoying but my password still seems to work even though it's three times as long.

It's supposed to be doing that. By putting more asterisks in the saved password field than your password has characters in it, someone can't look over your shoulder when you're connecting (for example) and see how many characters your password has. Regardless of whether your password has 5 characters or 20 characters, it will show the same number of asterisks when you have it saved. If it works as it is (as you've already mentioned that it does), then you have nothign to worry about. Just one of the security features in XP - no way to disable it that I know of).
