password for D-Link router?

A friend and I wanted to play some games direct IP, but we can't connect to each other, even after we turn off our firewalls. I figured it was because of the router's own firewall, so I told him to turn it off. Well, he went to the generic local address 192.168.0.1, but the default user (blank) and password ("admin") does not work! I don't know what kind of cable modem he has, but it is from Comcast. How does he access the router settings to change the firewall settings?
