Password Changes in DUN/Win98

Ok, I know, it is a silly question. But I am used to Win2000 now, and I have this Win98 machine, like going back in time.

I want to change a password used in a dial up connection.. I know how to do it in Win2000, how do I do it in Win98? Do I have to delete the PWL file, or am I missing a prompt somewhere?

You need to goto mycomputer then dialup networking. Then on the connection you made change your password there.

And what to I specify on the Connection? Properties?.. If I select connect, it just goes off and dials with the existing ID and Password. It does not prompt for it. I need that prompt back, so I can make the change 🙂

Highlight the connection in DUN. Go to the menu at the top called connections. Select settings. From there you will see a box checked that states "prompt for information before dialing". Take the check out of that box and hit ok. Now when you dial it will prompt for the password. Once you make a good connection you can go back and put the check back in and you are good to go.

Enjoy!
