Passport waiting time

Got a trip in april 17th, if i do standard, would I even get it on time or should I just waste the money and do the express ?

Anyone got any good trusted express passport service to use ?

My passport took 2 weeks but that was pre-9/11.

I got mine last year. Paid to get it expedited and it took ~3 weeks. If you need it in a hurry, I'd get it expedited. Just go to the post office.

edit: keep in mind, the demand may be high. you now require a passport to go to canada by land.

Yeah, be safe and get it sooner rather than later.

Friend got a passport back in the fall and it took 7 weeks, not expedited. With spring break and summer vacations just around the corner, I'd expect a little bump in applications.

Took mine 1.5 weeks this past December. I didn't even get the expedited service.

I applied for mine at the end of January 07 and got it by mid February 07 with no expedited service. I went to the main Pittsburgh post office which may have helped speed it up, but I still got it faster than my brother and parents who all had theirs expedited in September 07 for a vacation at Thanksgiving time, and ended up getting it a week before we left.

Mine did too, but the OP would be dumb not to pay for the expedited service now.

i applied for one in the middle of january of this year and had it by the end of the month. i didnt pay for expedited service.

edit: same thing for my co-worker who did hers 2 weeks ago. she got it this past thursday.

No, you just have to pay for it & tell them when you are leaving.

just fyi, i did the expedited on 2/19 and got it on 2/29 (friday)

mine took less then a month, this was before Xmass of this past year. did not expedite

Mine took about a month. I applied for it in December and got it toward the end of January.

I was able to get my passport renewed in 3 days. I did drive to Houston, though, which is the central passport office for Texas.

I got mine in December and it took 2.5 weeks. My brother applied for his in November and got it in just over a week.
