Passively Cool Pentium III?

Check on Intel's web site and find out the power dissipation for it (Watts). If it is much more than 10 or 15W , passive cooling is unlikely. If it's on a socket 370 mobo that supports it (possibly needing a BIOS update), and you're willing to lose some performance, it could be replaced with a VIA C3 (1GHz or so) which is capable of being passively cooled.

Kristopher Kubicki is passively cooling his A64, so I am sure an old P3 would be no problem.

He said he will be posting an article about it soon.

I guess I should have said ... likely for a reasonable cost... Too bad the Zen is only made for the P4. IAC, it's not really practical on a system that's mobo/cpu combo isn't worth the cost of the Zen when you can do nearly silent cooling for less than $15. And look at all the caveats - no gaming on a Zen cooled system...
. I'll be watching for the article too, but an expensive cooling solution can be justified on a new A64 system.
