passive northbridge cooler

Looking to swap out the northbridge fan on a NF7-S and put a passive heatsink on there. Doing mild overclocking, hoping to maybe do more if I get better RAM later but not likely to be doing anything extreme.

ATM I'm looking at the Zalman ZM-NB47J and ZM-NB32J, the former is heavier (more mass, 54g vs 36g) and might be taller, but the latter has more pins.

Any better solutions? Options seem pretty limited in UK atm though :/

edit: while I'm at it, why does the NB47J have lopsided pin heights?

I'm using the NB32J on my NF7-S right now. It can run sync 200Mhz full load on a day with 70 degree temps just fine.

The NB47j has odd pins because some heatsinks can get in the way if they are all long, most noteably some of Zalman's own :).
Get the NB47j if it fits. It should be a bit easier to install. I've just used the NB32j so far, but I wished from the start it had angled mounting arms...the new one does. If you get it you'll see what I'm talking about as you get them placed properly.

I have NF7-S Ver 2.0 and also am looking to replace the somewhat noisy NB fan. The Zalman NB47J has been recommended on several occasions, but do you guys think it will be sufficient for cooling my Overclocked system down? Tbred-B DLT3C 1800+ @ 220fsb. I have a Thermalright 947U and 92mm enermax variable resister fan. Perhaps the 92mm fan on the CPU hs will be enough airflow for this NB cooler?

thx

actually no. I originally got it from the Fallen GF from Final Fantasy VIII who was a dragon named Tiamat. Ive also used it as half of my computer's handle Tiamat-evangel somewhat of an oxymoronic title.

Koolance EXOS, Thermaltake Aquious II, Prometeia Mach series vapor compression systems, Corsair has one - i think Hydrocool.

Is that hot CPU air going over the NB cooler? If so, the answer is a definite yes.

ZM-NB47J installed and all seems fine :)

Tiamat, I have a NF7-S with thermalright SLK700 with a 80mm fan on there, I wouldnt be surprised if there's now more airflow (from the amount of fan that overhangs that side of the SLK) going over this sink than there was from that tiny little stock NB fan - and I expect your fan will overhang quite a bit more than mine.
