Passive NB cooling for a P4C800-E

I am looking for a decent Passive Northbridge cooling solution for a P4C800-E.

Am I limited to a Zalman, and using epoxy? Any passive NB coolers that use the hook method of installation found on the P4C800-E?😕

Thanks for any help

The Zalmans have a mounting system that accommodates most MB?s. As long as the cooler on your board now has mounting holes the Zalman system should work.

I guess thats my point. The Asus P4C800-E does not have the mounting holes. It has the 4 loops on eaxh corner. The NB cooler has to have the hooks for it to mount.

Nobody makes a NB Heatsink you can fasten with the hooks?

I guess I willl have to epoxy a Zalman onto my NB:frown:

Someone on AT posted a pic of their system and I said, "Ohh, I should get one of those." I've been eyeing a passive heatsink for my Abit IS7 myself and that pic almost got me to buy the Zalman.

What's wrong with the original heatsink on the Asus board? If you are looking for any aftermarket NB heatsinks for Intel boards, then your options are only ones from Thermalright, Swiftech and Thermaltake. But these all come with loud little fans. 🙂

I guess so. I thought somebody would produce a passive NB cooler like a Zalman that installed using the hooks on the Asus board.

I don't want one with a Fan.

thermalright nb-1c

its copper, and you dont really need to use the fan it comes with.
IE: its THE best passive nb hs available....

Thanks Thugs. I will check it out. Wonder if it will fit with my XP-90?

if you arent using the fan ~ it should fit a xp-90 or a xp-120 just fine 🙂 (its about the same size of your stock nb hs)

the nb-1c is designed to used with a fan, it's made from Cu, the fins are packed pretty tight together ect.

I really think the Zalman would make a better passive cooler.
