well i gave up on overclocking it so i decided to run it at 1.4v 1.5ghz 333ddr bus completely stable (passed prime95) with a stock aluminium heatsink (fan attached just unplugged). peak temp 40c idle 36/37c with an ambient case temperature of 26/27c

(edit: i only have one case fan in the middle of the side panel and no exhaust fans)

What XP is that? not a bad idea really. I can't imagine how quiet that is. I would be able to hear those little mice running around in wheels in the processor

my XP 1700+ runs around 34C/23C idle (CPU/CASE) and around 38.5C/27C at load.

One intake on the side panel and an exhaust shooting out the top.

its an 1800+ DUT3C JIUCB made on week 50 of 2002. its a poor overclocker but even when i bumped the voltage upto 1.85v its peak temp was only some 42c (with a fan) undervolting it this thing runs really cool

(although i guess the 120mm fan on the side panel helps, as with it unplugged peak temp is some 9C higher)
