I'm looking for suggestions on some passive cooling for my DFI board. When I'm gaming the fan spins up and down, my g/f actually thought there was a siren going off somewhere. Any help is appreciated.

My best suggestion is to replace the thermal grease w/ some AS5 and live with it you can't replace it and use the first PCI-E graphics slot unless you custom make some sort of low profile HSF as long as it stays below 5k rpm its pretty quiet you can also just get a fan controler and set it at that or use software like speedfan to limit it to 5k rpm

thats weird because i never had a noise problem w/ the northbridge cooler on my dfi ultra.

Anyway one day i was bored and did some stuff on the board, i also popped the fan off, removed the thermal tape (its crap)...and put some nice AS on the northbridge and put back the fan... (i also isolated the parts around the northbridge with electrical tape to avoid a shortcut)...anyway i think i remember i got better temps after i mput it together again.

What are your temps ? My NB temps (idle) right now is 43F
