Passive-cooling a Mobile Athlon?

When I think about it, this shouldn't be that hard to do. The A4s only take about 30W of juice, and the Mobile Duron core barely breaks 20W.

Here's the hitch. It has to be around 30mm. So far I've found a few ones that with fan are under there, but I want no fan.

Would it be possible to run something like an SK-6 passively if there was good case airflow?

What has to be 30mm? If the case is going to have good airflow why not just put a fan on the HS as well. You wouldnt here a L1A at 5V and it would be silent. I think there is only one way to find out if it will run passive though, try it. I have considered this as well. I am going to try running a XP1700 TBred A at 1.1GHz with as low voltage as possible passively, but I will probably end up using a fan.

Sorry about that ...

The height of the combined HSF has to be 30mm or less. I'll have to try the undervolted Panaflo as well.

try and mod a pep66, bend the outside fins down and cut / break the middle ones at the required height. I had a 1.0a passivley cooled using a similar setup, and a 1.1a@1.466 with a 40mm fan blowing air over it.
