I have to admit, it looks sweet. I just wonder how many case fans you have to add to keep this factory overclocked (420/620) thing below the red.

But at least Asus is coming up with different solutions. Like the GTX that comes with an NV Silencer 5 rev.3.
 
I think the cooler will be fine. Remember these things run cooler than last gen 6800 series... I would bet they run on par with the 6600 series (if i had to guess) and i've seen 6600 passive cooled cards. So no sweat.. and do you see all that metal... DAMN!


Also why is there a image of GTX 3dmark05 scores when this product is a GT lol.. damn ASUS bad!
 
a fan blowing across it, regardless of if the fan is atached or not, does not make it actively cooled.

I disagree there... i consider Actively cooled as something active(ie moving) to cool something.

When i fan is being used to cool something i would call it it active cooling. But this product from ASUS is passive cooling and i am sure it will not require any fans blowing directly over it. But i am sure it has to be placed in a correctly cooled case that meets CPU requirements.

Well I dont know. I got a NV silencer on my 7800 and under heavy load, there is alot of very hot air coming out at the back of my box (considering a core temp of 60°C). I should measure how warm it actually is when I get around to it.

I have no doubt that it works, but the question is: how much airflow do you need in your case and how loud will that be? 😛
