Passive Aggressive notes in the new year

OK, so fiancee and I live in a quasi-gated community. That is - the gate is open from 7am-7pm it comes down at 7pm and you need a card to get in.

So you have your share of folks who do things like tailgate in, there is a known gate code (a variant of 911) that I've heard people shout to each other to gain entry. Its annoying for guests, but you know what I like it. It generally keeps out folk who are up to no good, there haven't been random break-ins here, and my stuff is still in my car.

So we come back from dinner on the night of the 29th driving my fiancee's car, and there is a line up at the guest side. We whip out the card open the gate on the resident side - and promptly a massive SUV pulls behind and we know they are going to tailgate.

So she stops cold. Usually the gate comes down and said tailgater is screwed. Now granted if it were earlier they could just come inside. So why should I care right? Well - this time the SUV managed to keep the gate up. So we had ourselves a mexican standoff. Meanwhile some douchebag was taking forever at the guest gate. I hop out and confront the tailgater. She was a person who did not belong there. "I'm picking somebody up, why you gotta be a asshole?" - to which I said "Because I don't know you and there is a perfectly reasonable way for you to gain access which does not involve you tailgating me."

Within 5 minutes the person at the guest gate gave up and left and everyone lined up had gained entry. Now the tailgater backed up went to the guest box all in a huff and we went on our way.

Nobody else with a keycard had come up by now, so my actions were reasonable and I wasn't preventing anyone else from gaining entry that deserved to do so.

We had groceries so we were backed in and had gotten them all inside and my fiancee was inside by the time what transpired next went down. Our door is also round back a large multifamily dwelling.

Now normally I wouldn't have thought anything about this, but I noticed making my last trip inside with the last of the groceries that said tailgater made a point to circle the complex's multiple sub-parking lots upon gaining entry. Thinking this suspicious - bobdole369 watched from the shadows. Now my fiancee and I drive similar vehicles. Different color and year, but they are the same shape. We both have various stickers, being from white trash heritage and punkrock sensibility.

The tailgater paused for about 30 seconds behind bobdole369's vehicle and moved on. I followed the tailgater on foot. The tailgater arrived in front of what must have been the original destination. I maintained a vigilant watch, remember that the tailgater said she was "there to pick someone up". Well I watched as someone entered the SUV. All the windows were open and the individuals inside conversed rather loudly - I heard quite clearly the individuals speak of "powder", "8-ball", and saying "that's one fifty". Within a minute the individual went back inside.

Now I don't know who was selling what to whom but its obvious (to me, I might be wrong, and I'm no police officer) that I witnessed a drug deal. Granted it could be all made up and its hearsay. But I'm a little weirded out for this was on my wiper this AM.

PICS:

The really funny bit:

On the reverse - while the tailgater made an effort to hide where the letter came from, they failed to notice the ZIP+4 code, which narrows it down to a few houses on a street.

http://tinyurl.com/y9fvwp9

It's 33068-3913 Thats within about 3 miles of where I live, and is known to be an area where you might get drugs if one was so inclined; AKA a "bad part of town".

Of course it could have been just picked up off the ground, but I bet they live on that street.

cliffs:
1. No pics of fiancee - fuck you.
2. bobdole369 keeping out drug dealers, that came in anyways.
3. passive-aggressive note left for bobdole369.
4. No profit.

Let the flood of "cool story bro" commence.

Awesome. You did a good job. Keep up the good work! Neighbors need to look out for each other.

You could have also taken down their license plates and just called the cops to be sure.

What a rude letter. I don't know what, if anything, the local police department could do but I'd bring the issue up with them. If that letter did come from the person's residence, then maybe something can be done about them.

Do you intend to ignore this or are you currently contemplating a course of action?

I'm considering filing a police report - once I go back out and check that everything really IS ok with my car.

Granted if nothing happened but a pissed off note was left. Than that is it. But its on the internet for the lulz.

But a paper trail is a paper trail right? And supposedly the complex does CCTV at the gate. Perhaps they can be put on notice to retain the video.

Leave a similar note on all those houses in that bad part of town. The ones it doesn't pertain to will ignore it.

Something like:

Hey Drug Dealers
Why don't you sell your 8-balls in your part of town.
Maybe, you can hire some guards to keep out the cops that I turned your license plate number over to.

Fuck You

LOL hilarious. I would get the cops involved just so they know. I guess you were not really in a position to get a plate number nor ever thought of that but too bad you did not, maybe the cameras got it, I would check with the complex and also alert them about the tailgating issue. Maybe they need two gates separated by a bit more then a standard car length, and only one can open at a time.

Oh speaking of drug dealers, my dad had this nasty phone call a few months ago that apparently I owe 5k or something to my drug dealer for some coke that I bought and if I don't pay up he will kill my family. They never specifically named anyone, they just refered to me as "read headed bastard" (lol) and when my dad asked where he's calling the guy said "Ontario" lawls.

It was kinda creepy but I think I know who it is and I'm not scared. My dad let the cops know anyway though. The guy had found a way to mask his phone number so even trace did not work. Was a one time deal and never heard anything again. If it's the guy I think it is, he basically got the phone number off my whois (changed it to one of those free voice mail ones now) and he is super pissed because I banned him from my UO server for hacking. RAGE!!! lol.

Thanks...it's a wicked avatar, isn't it? The sad thing is I haven't seen the play, though I have read the book.

Yep.
I haven't seen the play either. I've read the books though, as well as worked with a lot of pieces from the musical in high school. We couldn't actually do the whole musical since the wrights wasn't released yet.
They have toured around my area a few times, but I really want to see it with the original cast on Broadway for my first time seeing it.

I got so into it in high school I got a tattoo done on my hip when I turned 18. I'm such a geek, I know.

OP, are you armed? Is your fiancee armed? Are you capable of defending yourselves should the need arise? The person in that SUV was either making a delivery or picking up, either way a bad situation. Since you don't know what apartment your "neighbor" was coming out of, there isn't a lot you can do. However, if either party really wanted to, they could figure out where you live by breaking into your car and looking at the registration. Drug dealers and their clients are inherently irrational as they are buying/selling illegal, mind & body altering stubstances at high cost/profit. Since they are already doing something illegal, they will likely have little compunction about terrorizing or killing you for interfering with their business.

I know this sounds pretty extreme, but the people you are dealing with are likely armed and violent. The police likely will not do anything about the situation other than telling you not to antagonize people by playing security. The note doesn't spell out any specific threat nor does it serve to incriminate the writer. Your story about watching the drug deal go down is simply hearsay. The best you can hope for is that the police will step up patrols of the apartment complex. Its admirable that you want to help protect your community, but make sure you can protect yourself first.
