Nevermind who is to blame for Jesus' death; it's unlikely that there's an unbiased account of those events recorded anyway.

Regardless of who or what you believe in, and who made this film, I'm really sick of hearing Jews whine about it. They're worried about their portrayal in the film? Good God, you can't turn on the television or see a film these days without being reminded that the Jews have been persecuted throughout history. Guys, nobody has forgotten about the Holocaust. Seriously. They love to keep us reminded, although who would forget.

I don't want my grandchildren to think the entire Second World War was simply about anti-Semitism and genocide.

This whole controversy is ridiculous. Yes, the Jews killed Jesus, as it was *supposed* to happen(read Old Testament for prophecies of the Christ/Messiah). However, to hate the Jews because of this is plain stupid, though many have and still do.

I think we live in a time, where we are so hurried and involved in our lives, that we hope a 2hr movie can solve all human issues. It can't folks. The world has become a fvcked up place, but nothing our predesessors did has anything to do with what we can do today. Living in the past is a dangerous way to go. We simply cannot go forward that way. Yes, we must glimpse at the past, from time to time, only for retrospect, but we live our lives forward. The value in this, is do what we can today to make it better. Do not do what we did in the past, and if you go into the past too far, definitely, do not use that as an example of what to do today. It was ugly back then. You think life is short now? 😉

Didn't the Romans torture and cruciy Jesus? I know that the Roman church's bible says the the Romans were encouraged to do it. But I can not imagine the Romans caring what the Jews wanted. The Romans ruled with a iron fist.

My understanding has always been that while Jews and Romans all played parts in the crucifiction of Jesus(even one of his apostles was party to it "Judas") It was a necessary event to cleanse mankind of sin. They really had no choice in their part as God was the writer and director. Jesus was the only one with any choice and he chose to accept this death and torture and to forgive all involved to expiate the human race of their sin. I may not have expressed this to clearly but i think you cet the gist of my understanding of the passion. Pointless to blame anyone because if he had not been tortured and crucified then his whole purpose would not have been achieved. People that consider the Jews and the Romans the murderers of christ don't seem to comprehend that without the passion christianity could not have existed as we know it.
