Another chapter in Profiles of Courage. I hope they scrambled at least three F-16's and two B-52's to escort the subversive passengers.

Says the puss with a disabled profile.

What are you talking about you gutless runt. You have a personal problem with anything I post, send me a pm. And a disabled profile? WTF are you talking about.

Edit: I just figured out what you were referring to; my disabled profile. I don't know why it was enabled or disabled. It is now enabled... am I now brave or something?

That post deserves an extra :roll:

Brave? Maybe, maybe not......my 6 month old son doesn't try to protect himself during a fall using his arms. Almost gives the impression fearlessness......but nope.....he's just not smart enough yet to figure it all out. Kinda like posting your telephone number here......

I'm still mystified why you would insult/attack me, because my profile was disabled. People do the strangest things.

Well this thread is ruined. Sorry OP.

I'll insult anyone for any reason, why should you be an exception? I guess I don't understand why you would insult people for simply doing their jobs: insuring the safety of their passengers, amongst others.....

I guess that makes us even......

Some where I read a list of suspicious activities used by airport security. So many ordinary profiles were listed, it read more like a cover their a$$ list rather than a pick out the bad guy list.

B-52, the ultimate close air support weapon.

Not too many things on the internet actually make me LOL but this did.

Either way the Air Marshalls are just doing their job.

Sounds like that's the bottom line right there.

I'm not sure I'd conclue that just yet...overreaction from passengers is understandable, but it's totally unacceptable for trained police officers. I don't know about you, but I don't feel too safe riding in a place with armed air marshalls who might have itchy trigger fingers. It might turn out that the reaction is justified, but my feeling is that it was an overreaction.

Possibily, but we won't know until we get more details.
now we know, per CNN this morning:

"Dutch Justice Minister Piet Hein Donner said on Thursday the return of a U.S. Northwest Airlines plane bound for India to Amsterdam did not seem to have been prompted by a terrorist threat."

"Up until now it does not appear to be terror related," a spokeswoman for the Dutch counter-terrorism office quoted the minister as saying. "There is no indication of a terrorist threat on the plane that returned to Schiphol."

so it looks like we have overzealous air marshalls

Those are not the details needed to pass judgement on the air marshalls. Dutch Justice Minister Piet Hein Donner is very likley privy to information that the air marshalls did not have at the time. We'd need to know why they did what they did.

Yup, Corn puts a kernel of truth in the saying, "Judge not lease you be judged!"

And another flying while excited about your trip smacked down!

""I don't know how close we were, but my guts tell me these people wanted to hijack the plane," passenger Nitin Patel from Boston told the Algemeen Dagblad daily.

"I saw the air marshals run and I knew something was amiss," said another passenger.

Others commented that those arrested were from Asia and aged between 25 and 35.

"Some had beards, others were unshaven, one was wearing a robe. Some had baseball caps," a passenger told the paper."

Better start profiling Asians.
