Nvidia is ready to announce its Maxwell-based Pascal graphics cards at Computex 2016 from May 31-June 4, with graphics card players including Asustek Computer, Gigabyte Technology and Micro-Star International (MSI) showcasing their reference board products, according to sources from graphics card players.

The graphics card players will begin mass shipping their Pascal graphics cards in July and they expect the new-generation graphics card to increase their shipments and profits in the third quarter, the sources noted.

Nvidia initially plans to reveal GPUs including GeForce GTX 1080 and 1070 at Computex 2016 and has already begun to clear inventory of its existing GPUs to prepare for the next-generation products.

Couldn't put the source in the title because it's too long and the forum software cuts off the title, take this rumor however you want.

Not looking good for seeing any GDDR5X GPUs this year. On the bright side if AMD launches in June and Nvidia in July there should be some healthy price competition.

If you are lucky you may see GP104 with 2 stacks of HBM2. But it will also cost accordingly. Tho GDDR5X is still the joker.

Just as reference.
2 stacks of 1.4Ghz HBM2=360GB/sec
256bit 12Ghz GDDR5X=384GB/sec

Without HBM2 or GDDR5X and limited to 256bit. Its hard to imagine a performance level worth upgrading to.

There were some poster who said that Nvidia is 6 months behind AMD.
It might well be due to GDDR5x that both the new GPU launches are so close to each other, it also makes sense to go with GDDR5x for a potential replacement to Fury X otherwise it'd be bandwidth starved IMO.

Depending on whether one, or both, of them is a hard launch we can expect good price pressure being put on the other GPU maker so long as they're close in terms of raw performance & perf/W ():)

if nvidia starts bulk shipments on july that means those cards will reach at shops on q3
if amd lifts the nda on june as they say well they have at least half of a quarter lead
tho that site so far has 8/8 failed rumors so..

The X80, yes, but nVidia could just paper launch that. The X70 should be able to get away with just 8 Ghz GDDR5 and while that would hurt performance it wouldn't be crippled. 10% slower than 980 Ti is still 30% faster than 970.

The article says that card manufacturers will start mass shipping in July, not Nvidia. So for this to be true Nvidia must already have started mass shipping to card manufacturers.

Digitimes must have mixed that up, they probably meant Pascal.

Alternatively they were trying to be clever and make a joke about how Pascal is apparently extremely reminiscent of Maxwell architecture wise, but that's probably giving them too much credit.

Shipping in July?

Retail availability after that. Q3.

A few months late unless AMD paper launches Polaris in June as well, which all signs suggest a proper launch instead.

We shall see, but good ole Raja said AMD is at least a few months ahead of the competition to bring FF to the market. See if he's telling the truth (if true, NV paper launches in Computex!).

DGX-1 with P100 ships in June. So from that alone he is wrong. Tho the context could be gaming cards.

Cscs already ordered 4500 P100. And Baidu and Google looks to end up as the biggest P100 customers.

Meanwhile, AMD has prepared Polaris-based GPUs to compete against Nvidia's Pascal; however, the GPUs will be released later than Nvidia's Pascal and therefore the graphics card players' third-quarter performance will mainly be driven by demand for their Nvidia products.
AMD is paper launching, nothing more. Digitimes asks their sources inside the graphics card companies.

Why don't you have a quick browse through the recent rumor mongering clickbait articles from Digitimes and see whether they are correct?

Big Pascal GTX in APRIL anyone? They are one of the sites repeating that stupid rumor since last year. -_-

Also you don't have to try so hard to claim AMD is paper launching, it's less than 2 months to go. They've been public saying Polaris will launch in June since the start of this year.

Nvidia can certainly bulk ship their GPU dies out to partners, who then assemble them into complete cards (and then ship them out to retail and OEMs)

Also you will find no disagreement from me regarding the reliability of the site in question.

i meant that nvidia themself cant ship because they dont produce nothing so by definition the article is really just clickbaiting the only way for sure is to wait and see when the first "rumors" about the reviews will come when those hits the net the cards will be at max a month away..(this is what has happened so far since 5900 i doubt they gonna change that now)

After TSMC produces the GPU dies, they are sent to one of Nvidia's packaging partners and then to one of Nvidia QC facilities and from there shipped out to card partners. This obviously simplifies the process a great deal, but point is that the GPUs eventually ends up at an Nvidia facility and are shipped out from there.

Also the article never said anything about Nvidia shipping anything, so I don't know why you would declare the article clickbait on that basis.

July is already Q3 btw. Depending on when this "mass shipping" starts, Q4 could be more reasonable.

Chen has been parroting the same line for months about Nvidia being first. We shall see, but AMD has been producing Polaris since last December and mass production since February I think.

Did we have that previously? Something like the GTX980TI came in from nowhere for example.
I think there was 3d mark leak with GTX970 and also with 980TI.And with 980/970 there was one complete review shows average performance in games and it was true. Also i remember they shows some crazy clocks for 970/980 in that review and i dont believe them but it was true.
Edit first GTX970 leak shows 1664SP 11 august 2014 and 970 was released more than month later
