i'd say typical southern cali weather. a little chilly in the morning, warm as hell in the afternoon. you'll probably like pasadena. it's a nice little town. you have old town pasadena, in case you like to shop. there's plenty of coffee-houses as well. some of the houses in the area are downright beautiful, and large too. pasadena would be a cool place to live.

Pasadena is a nice place but the commute to Pomona would be a drag because of freeway congestion. And yes, there is a big Computer show at the Fairgrounds one weekend/month.

gentlemen gentlemen! Quite your whining about the commute. Its not bad. I live near Marina Del Rey and commute to Cal Poly three times a week. Takes an hour, tops.

As for Pasadena, really nice place. I always enjoy going there for a social outing.

I live 10 minutes from Pasadena and I attend Pasadena City College. I like it a lot actually, it's a good city with a good mix of people. I also work in Pasadena, which is pretty convenient. Hopefully I'll transfer to a four year school (soon). If you have any specific questions about Pasadena, feel free to PM me.

My grandparents live in Pasedena, CA...and I've been there many times...

It's a nice place, except where my grandparents live, is kinda ghetto, but i'm sure most of Pasedena is ghetto...

Ruse Parade = Pasadena

Rose Tournament = Pasadena

DannyLove = Pasadena

Its a nice town to live, its got some extremely expensive houses in certain parts of pasadena and the girls are ok...especially from the richer neighbourhoods.

I trespass thru pasadena each day to Stargate.

As for communting from Pasadena to Pomona, you might be better off staying somewhere else close to pomona. The 210 is a night mare, though morning rush hour should give you a break since all traffic is in bound.. not much outbound traffic (out bound = pomona).

Ask dannylove about the commute he does that route every day.

i live in the heart of pasadena. come on nate, you should have just asked me, you didnt know I lived in Pasadena? I'm on Marengo street which is south of Colorado Blvd. (famous street of pasadena, since old town is there)

Pasadena, is a beautiful place. I used to live wayyyyy south of it, and now that I go to Cal POly I decided to move up here with a friend of mine. The commute, well, that is the thing about LA, you get used to commutes. The school is approx. 25 or so miles away, and depending on what time you leave and go it'll take you about 30 mins to get there. Depends on the speed as well, it takes me about 20 mins ;)

Trust me nate, this place is nice. Especially if you're really bored in the weekends you can always head down to Old town, which is always happeneing. I love this city and I've been living here for 6 months already, but have known and been here my entire life. So, I hope you decide on whether or not you'll be moving allllllllll the way over here. First thing we gotta do, is have a nice round of beers :)

nope, the only ghetto side of Pasaden is when you go over the 210, south of it is extremely expensive and very richy. Thats where I live, :) (im not richy)

I also live in Pasadena, and I love it here. I find the location to be nearly ideal:

1 hour away from the nearest skiing yet 30 min from the beach.

And because it is a bit higher (on the base of the San Gabriels) than other parts of LA, the smog is better in Pasadena than in many parts of LA.

Also, Old Pasadena is just up the street and is a pretty popular place to hang out on the weekends, i.e. lots of people, and action (although some might say the crowd there is a bit yuppy.)

As an added bonus you get the Hunington Gardens just down the road, and let us not forget Caltech (the reason I am here in the first place.)

This place is great, I do not look forward to moving away!

And Danny is right, the city is not at all ghetto until you go north of 210. Most of the city is incredibly beautiful and full of rich neighborhoods.

BTW DannyLove, what is the other cross street nearest to your place? Marengo and what?

I think I live pretty close to you... I am near the intersection of Hill and Colorado (actually Green and Michigan to be exact.)

I wonder if I have ever unwittingly walked past you in Old Pas?

later,
-jothaxe
