Party games for Xbox 360?

Are there any decent party games for the xbox360? The Wii seems to have a few very accessible games that anyone can pick up and play. Wii Sports (of course), Olympics, soon to come Mario Kart, etc...

I can't really think of any quality party games that a bunch of people (gamers and non-gamers) could just pick up and play well for the Xbox360. (excluding the various guitar heros, rock bands, DDRs....just not a big fan of those games).

The wife and I were thinking of awarding ourselves with a Wii as a post-holiday present....but 1) we can't find any, and 2) getting the extra 3 controllers we'd want plus maybe 2 extra games puts the total price tag over $500...more than we wanted to spend.

Mario Party 8 for the Wii is pretty fun. Plus you can play the Mario Party games from the GameCube on it.

As for the Xbox 360, I only know of Fuzion Frenzy 2. I've played Fuzion Frenzy for the Xbox before and I thought it was a lot of fun, but I haven't played 2 yet.

Rock Band is the closest thing you'll get to easy pickup and play party game. Why don't you like them?

The wii is more for casual gamers, than therefore will have more casual games. The 360 is more hardcore focusing on shooters and stuff that only semi-experienced gamers will get and enjoy. Halo 3 is a great game, but not for everybody and definitely not fun for somebody who hasn't played games much. Maybe some of the live arcade games, but I don't think any of those support over 2 players.

Party games for the 360:
Scene-It
Viva Pinata: Party Animals
3D Ultra? Minigolf Adventures (XBLA)
Bomberman Live (XBLA)
Carcassonne (XBLA)
Cloning Clyde (XBLA)
Rayman Raving Rabbids
Worms (XBLA)

The original Fusion Frenzy is backwards compatible on the 360. It is much better than Fusion Frenzy 2.

There are other 4 player games that aren't necessarily 'party' games.

I like Scene-It a lot, but it's hard to justify the $60 price tag when the regular editions are $30. Hopefully they come out with a sequel and/or some DLC, because the clickers could obviously be reused.

I played Rock Band the other night and I wasn't very impressed. I had never played Guitar Hero before hand, although I had played DDR. I love DDR.

My feeling with rock band is put the money towards an actual instrument and learn some skill that counts. Nobody gives a flying pigeon about how well you can shred in Guitar Hero... but what bothers me is that some people actually do care about that.

Rock Band is just lame. The whole point is to it various triggers at specific times. Those triggers could be put on a banjo shaped controller, a dog shaped controller, doesnt really matter. It just annoys me.

Why don't you go and do some dance lessons if you like DDR so much?

It's a game. It's a rythm game that people look slightly less nerdy playing, and I find the drums quite fun. A DDRer should be happy about this - i had a very hard time ever getting anyone to play DDR with me.

You can create music better digitally these days. Instruments are just a measure of skill and talent. It's definately worthwhile to learn them, but being better at a real guitar doesn't make you yourself better. Do what you enjoy. Don't be an elitist prick to others.

I'm with you man... and instead of playing Halo 3, I got a Spartan suit and some real guns and some friends and I have been playing in my back yard. Haven't figured out how to respawn yet. :(

I believe that is the plan.

LOL! First time I've actually had to stop myself from laughing out of funny looks coming from the other room. The last sentence did it for me

there's Worms on XBLA though I don't know which version. IIRC they got worse with age but the first couple are classic, great fun and really easy to just pick up.

Yeah, worms and bomberman are a couple I think I'll have to grab.
