Anyone here ever do business with this company?

I've found that their customer service is a joke. They sent me the wrong part and made me pay for return shipping. On top of that they issued me an RMA number for a different part of the order which I never requested a refund for. The ineptitude and lack of concern for customers at this company is something I haven't experienced with a vendor in a long, long time.

Still trying to get my refund from them 2 months later, even though I have UPS confirmation that the incorrect parts did arrive back to them and was received by so and so, at this location, at this time.

I'm wondering if I just have had horrible luck on this order, or if this company just truly sucks ass.

Could be a combination of things.

I've been using them for parts back when they were still www.stopshopanddrive.com

I never had issues with them before, and the only time I had to call them up the support guy was a fellow VW enthusiast so it made my life much easier because he knew what I was talking about.

Though, perhaps with the change of websites (and possibly owners/operators) they've gone down hill.

I'm updating this thread in the hopes of warning all you guys.

First of all, let me start by repeating my earlier sentiments. Partsgeek.com has the most atrocious customer service I have ever come across in almost 20 years of doing business online.

In a nutshell:

They shipped me the wrong part.
Gave me an RMA number for a separate order/box that I did not want to return.
Made me pay to return ship their mistake.
They received the return, then did nothing for a month.
I asked them wth, provided "customer service" with shipping/delivery confirmation.
Another 3 weeks passes with me asking for updates every couple of days, always told 'guys at the warehouse are still looking for it' !!!
I finally lose what patience I still had and write them a nice NastyGram, ask to have a manager involved due to the sheer amount of bullshit. Gave them the delivery confirmation info from UPS again, asked why I'm being made to wait when I performed my part of the equation.

My reply comes in the form of a refund confirmation, with a note at the bottom saying they still can't find it and that I'm right, their refund policy is within 30 days, not 60+.
And they charged me a %15 restocking fee for the part they can't find to restock.

In short, Partsgeek sucks ass and I will never do business with them or any of their partners ever again. They're like the anti-Newegg, only with car parts.

You've been warned.

Why don't you just dispute the charge for cost for the wrong part and let the CC company take care of it?

You're making the assumption a CC was used. Due to the account I had to use, I had to break my normal rule of never using a debit card and of course the one time I do that the vendor tries to screw me.

Def will check out Rockauto, thanks for the recommendation guys.

I'll second these guys. Rockauto is awesome. I paid for a radiator on thursday, recieved it on Friday and didn't even request or pay extra for next day.

Thirded. used them a few times, even had to return an item once

No hassle

Pleasant people

I like pie.

Partsgeek on Resellerratings 7.63

Not a bad score, but the ratings are clearly padded with bogus 5 star reviews that sounds like a commmercial imo.

In fact, nearly every 5 star reviewer on the first 6 or 7 pages has only reviewed one store, partsgeek.

I think I ordered a Audi fuel pump from them once. Came as listed but only 1 order.

Have placed many with rockauto.com and only had minor issues they fixed real fast. Even gave me a real honest answer to one of my questions once, not a form BS answer. So I always go to them first and use others like partsgeek as backup.

I still do not get why you did not use credit card....

Of course you don't, I didn't elaborate on why because it's immaterial to partsgeek.com having horrible service and policies. That and it's a long story. Regardless, having to resort to a CC company's "safety net" in order to resolve mistakes made by a vendor doesn't indicate error on my part, it's just one more reason why I'll never do business with them again.

Good catch jj, that company is clearly padding the net with bogus reviews.

I'm no longer pissed about it though. A refund was finally issued, and the friend who fiercely advocated that company's use got a good thump to the dome.

No one is saying that it does have to do with anything with their service, but you are the one who said

" Due to the account I had to use, I had to break my normal rule of never using a debit card and of course the one time I do that the vendor tries to screw me."

I really do not understand why using a certain account prevents you from using your own credit card.

I understand you not understanding, I just don't care. My aim here was to warn fellow members about the business practices of this company in the hope you guys don't experience a similar clusterfuck. A drawn out story about finances, friends, drama, my wife, friends that my wife hates, and favors to said friends is unnecessary. Possibly even foolish as these 3rd parties are aware that I post on this forum and I'm about done arguing with people. But do you really think I'd break my own rule out of the blue just for shits n giggles? Guess you'll just have to trust me. Or not, whatever. As long as you view this company with extreme suspicion I'm happy.
