Parts wholesaler or Newegg?

A friend has a small office and needs ten budget boxes built. He asked me if I could do it since I helped him set up his network. My question is...is it worth it to set up an account with a parts wholesaler or just go through Newegg/Mwave/Googlegear(or whatever their name is now) for ten systems?

Thanks

I hate to say it, but it's almost cheaper to buy a Dell these days (since it seems you'll be buying all new parts). BUT, that takes the fun and creative control away from it. :)

Newegg is fine for 10-25 systems. Wholesalers are nice when you need a lot of parts that places like Newegg RAPE on shipping for (Like Realtek NICs).

And no - it's nowhere near cheaper to buy a Dell. Entry level GX260 systems that I've modded into video editing machines run $1200 and are vaguely $300 in parts. Then they require $300-500 in upgrades to turn into those video editing systems.

Sorry for the threadjack, but EyeMWing - my buddy's dad wants me to either build (or buy) a system for video & photo editing. He'd prefer INTC, but I'd love ANY suggestions. He also really likes the small Shuttle boxes. Firewire required, DVD R/W desired.

TIA.

I suppose it depends on the situation, and also how often you visit the Hot Deals forum... :)
