I'm building myself a PC form a mix of new and used parts.
It will be a 2600k with 8GB ram, a ssd, 4 storage drives, a dvd burner and in the future a 7950 video card.

I still need to get a case, PSU, and a CPU cooler.
I've got $55 left in my PC budget so I know I don't have enough for everything.
Is there any decent deals anyone knows of for a case preferably with a window and a PSU?

Also is the 412 Evo still the go to budget cooler for mild OCing? (4.5GHz-4.8GHz is my goal) or is there something else cheaper just as good or better?

Here's what I've came up with so far
$45 Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811146102
$60 PSU ($50 AR) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182132 would rather find a PSU in the $40 range but probably no quality ones @ that price.

Probably see if I can borrow a stock HSF for now and overclock later when I can buy a better cooler.

The stock cooler will actually be fine for a mild OC if you have access to that.

Assuming you can use the stock cooler, you still need a case and a psu for $55? I think that's reasonable for the PSU alone, and I'd double that to include a decent case also.

PSU:
The Rosewill HIVE 650W is only $50 AR, shipped, until 10/31

Case:
The 330R is $60 shipped, AR.

How is 4.5-4.8GHz mild? o_O

Yeah, that too. 4.5-4.8 is a pretty hefty OC, even on SB. You are unlikely to hit that on the stock cooler, and frankly, I think unlikely to hit it on the CM EVO either.

Thanks everyone. here's what I went with

I ended up stretching my budget.
$60 PSU Rosewill HIVE 650W
$55.25 Case IN WIN GT1
$31.51 Hyper 212 Evo

Combined with the rest of my parts I will have a total of $610 before buying a video card. is that a decent price for a i7 sandy bridge rig?

It depends on how much you spent for each part.

BTW: That case you brought only has one fan. It might get a bit warm in there. :p

It does only have 1 fan included but I have a few spares I can throw in.

I'm not going to say what I spent for each of the used parts individually but I will say that I spent $445 on the CPU, mobo, ram, and SSD.
Would I have been better off going with a 4670 haswell and buying all new?

I suck at shopping lol

thanks

$445 for a powerful setup seems great to me! Haswell is barely better (if not equal) than SB when they're both overclocked. The only prob may be PCIE 2.0 :(
