Are there sitll places in Japan that have been barely touched by civilization? In other words, villages where people still practice swordfighting and there isn't any electricity? Does the culture live on?

i bet so.. not sure about the sword fighting though, that would be pointless.

England still had places like that till just very recently, and I know for a fact vietnam and all of the other asian mainland countries do.

If they practice Kendo in big cities in the USA, surely the Japanese villagers haven't forgotten how to wield a sword

I don't know. I sent my scout there, but he was overtaken by their samurais. Then Shogun TOKUGAWA demanded I give them the technology of Ceremonial Burial, and 50 gold.

There is not part of the world occupied by humans that is untouched by civilization. You mean Western Civilization. The Japanese embrassed American"Western" Culture faster than we did.

So I whooped out my Desert Eagle and shot them all dead. Silly Samurai, get with the times.

This is kinda funny. Most people on ATOT would say that Japan has more elctronic gizmos per captia than anywhere else in the world. That they are one of the most technological embracing culture.

Then, you have people that just got thru watching a Tom Cruise flick and think they are villages out there with sword swinging Japanese, no running water, no electricity and still living circa 1750.

So, swords would be pointless, but not having electricity would?

I doubt it--isn't Japan the most densely populated country in the world?

Nope, to own land in Japan is very expensive, even a piece of steep mountain terrain (for which most of the islands are) that is unsuitable for development. Take a trip to Japan and tour by train. You'll see nothing but seemingly endless homes, apartments, and condos. Besides the farms that are heavily subsidized, there is no open space.
