I have 2 hard drive one 200 gig and one 120 gig.

I use the 200 for my main and the 120 as a slave.

I partitioned the 200 to 20 for XP and then 180 for others.

What i did was installed all programs on a different partion so that if I had to reformat I wouldnt have to reinstall the programs again. But now that I have reformatted the windows none of my programs will work. I am assuming this is because they arent in the registry anymore since the reinstall of windows.

Is there anyway to get the programs and games to work again with out reinstalling all of them again or was wrong in thinking this setup would work?

If you have reformatted the system disk, and you haven't got any system backups ie registry, then this time, install OS, then install all your progs [after your chipset drivers of course], then backup your system files. Do this every so often anyway

If you have XP Home, I think you need to install the backup utility from your XP CD.

Some of those programs and games will run. You just don't have the shortcuts in the start menu.
You can create shortcuts yourself.

To see if a program works or not, open "My Computer" and navigate to where the program files are. Navigate to the folder for the specific program you want to try. You will find a file with usually the program name and a .exe at the end. Run that. If it runs, you are OK. If it fails, it means that installation also copies some dll files into the system32 folder that you don't have anymore since you reformated. You will need to install this program again.
