Partitioning in Ranish

I happened to get Win2k Adv. Server and I installed it. I setup my partitions sort of like SUOrangeman said with the 510MB C: drive and I have Win2k on the D: and data on the E: (both NTFS). Well, I wanted to install Partition Magic 6 and then it says I need Server Magic so it won't install (should have done all this before reformatting but whatever). So, now I'm looking into Ranish and I haven't seen for sure that it won't harm my data when I create some partitions for a Linux install. Can I use Ranish without it deleting my data? If not, what other programs are there that can do this (preferably free but if not that's fine, guess I'll look into Server Magic)?
