partitioning dos hard drives as uno

i have winodws xp pro installed and i ahve partition magic pro 7.0 and i have a western digital 30 gig hard disk, and a maxtor 120 gig hard disk. the os is loaded on the 120 and i would liek to add the 30 gig to the 120 using only one partition for both. so therefore it would look liek a 150... anyone know how to go about doing this? can i do it with the os on there still? so i dont have to load xp all over again?

i know you can make 2 hard drives look like one. i have done it before and i know friends that are running on two hard drives the computer reads as one. so its def not impossible. i honestly cant figure out how to do it tho.

You are using 2 drives with different size, it would take the smaller size drive x 2 so you'd have a 60gb in raid 0 which would be pointless, cause you be losing 60gb of drive space.

edit-since now we are talking raid here, i can't say impossible, but how you stated in beginning was impossible

You are the one who doesn't know how RAID works, Trashman is correct AFAIK. You can't RAID-0 two drives of different sizes and use all the capacity of both.
You cannot do what you want to do. It is not possible.

before you make yourself look like a total noob, here's a guide to read Link

I think he's talking about JBOD.

Not sure if any of the onboard controllers support this RAID level anymore, since it is pretty useless as it decreases performance and fault tolerance.

well i know i can do it, as stated its not impossible. trashman. thanks tho. and i have used RAID, but thats not the way i wanted to go. the whole point of being on a forum would be to provide help lonyo, trashman, not to prove who has the most pride...
