Partitioning = Bad sectors

After preparing partitions for Linux and then going deleting them to go back to Windows, etc. I now find that my hard drive has some bad sectors in it. My friend experienced the similar thing which was getting bad sectors from using different partitioning utilities (MS' FDISK and Linux's Disk Druid). Can anybody confirm this and why does using two or more different partitioning programs result in bad sectors being created? thanks.

Its Probably just a software glitch, try a low level format on the hdd then once the new os is installed run scandisk(or equivilant)

I would also recommend a low level format. I have had trouble when trying to get rid of Linux partitions (especially using Fdisk).

can't say for sure whether it would or not, but it definitely gives you a better chance to removing the bad sectors.
