I'm currently running 98SE on a 20 gig drive with three partitions. C, 2 gig operating system only. D, 13 gig MP3's games, d/l's...etc. E, 5 gig programs. I'm upgrading to a 60 gig drive with Windows XP Home ed. I would like to run a dual boot system but I'm not sure about the partitions. I was thinking of allocating 20 gigs to 98SE and 40 to XP. I would like to run 98SE basically the way it is now with 3 partitions. May I do the same thing (3 partitions) with XP? I've heard that it's best to have the operating system on it's own partition (at least in windows) and wonder if this would apply to XP as well? I know I'll have to use FAT32. Will there be a performance loss by not using NTFS?
