I have a 20 gb drive, that I didn't partition before I started to install things. Is there a way to partition on the fly, using the Windows 2000 partitioning tool, like you can do with Partition Magic?

If there isn't, and I have to start over, what type of partitions do I create logical, extended, etc? I want 1 for my OS, and then 1 or 2 for storage of mp3's and data.

Thanks,

But... you may be able to find a new version of PM or something that will let you do what you want....

I checked on PowerQuest's site, HERE, and PM 6.0 will do what you want.

I know PM will do exactly what I need. I've used it before, but I don't have a copy and can't afford to buy it. Thanks though.

As long as you aren't mucking with the boot partition nor the system partition (has \WINNT), you CAN partition on the fly with Win2K. Start up the Computer Management tool and use the Disk Management console.

NOTE: By default, Win2K likes to use dynamic volumes which are only good when you are running Win2K. Right-click on the drive in question and use Basic volumes so that other OSes can use those same volumes.
