So my PC started to crap out and we decided to f dick and reload it all. well what is don't remember is what is the biggest size drive that XP can read. I thought it was 40G or something.

I have 2 80G drives. My old set-up had one drive set-up at a 15G partition and then 5 12G partitions and it was a bad way to go, I was thinking I might do a 20G for the OS the 2 30G pertitions and then devide the other 80G in 2 40G drives.....

Comments..

Thanks

Pre-SP1, 137GB. SP1 or later, 2TB. Vista or later can read larger disks with GPTs. I suggest keeping each disk in one partition and using folders for division. Use one drive for the OS and the other for data/games/etc.

It is two different issues, though. SP1 and beyond is about addressing sectors. The 2TB limitation is about MBR partitioning structure.
