Partition size limit for boot drive ?

I thought any computer without BIOS limitations and WinXP w/SP2 should be able to boot off of a Large HD ( > 137GB )? I bought a 300GB HD and I've had to partitino it to two smaller drives because if I have it as the boot drive it gives me a "disk read error" if the partition is larger than 137GB.

Any ideas ?

And, check your BIOS settings to see if translation is enabled or disabled.
