Partition Problem(Fixed)

I partitioned my hard drive into 2 equal partitions, its worked fine for a few weeks now. Now suddenly the second one isn't showing up on My Computer🙁. What could be the problem??? What can I do. It's a new maxtor 40 gb hard drive, worked fine before. I'm running Win98 SE. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i would boot off of a boot disk and run fdksik and press "4" for the view partitions option and check out if there are still 2 partitions defined....once you know this, let us know, and we'll have some more to go on

wow. that really sux. you're treading on dangerous grounds now...

personally, i've seen this happen a couple of times, and i've never been able to find a way to recover it.

BUT, i'm not about to say it's not possible...(although it probably isn't).

So i have to step down here and open this thread up to others that might have suggestions for recover.

I wish you luck

If you haven't done too much, I'm told Partition Magic 6.0 (or whatever the latest version is) is quite good.

Dumb question: Backups? (Sorry)

Could Partition Magic help me now, or just use it when I partition in the future? I think I have 4.0 or 5.0 somewhere. No, I didn't make any backups🙁🙁🙁

WOOOOWOOOOOOO!!!!!! 😀🙂🙂🙂

Maxtor rocks, I booted up using their maxblast disk, and there's an option where it restores your partition(which it made when I partitioned the drive originally). Whew🙂 Time to whip out some cd-r's. Thanks for the help guys
